Port Blair, May 24: The UT Administration of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has framed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to be followed by all passengers, Airports Authority, Airline Operators and others concerned. The SOPs have been framed considering the commencement of domestic flight operations from Monday.

  1. All airline operators will be sharing passenger manifest with the District Administration, South Andaman beforehand.
  2. Thermal screening shall be done for all passengers by local health authorities.
  3. All asymptomatic passengers who are residents of Port Blair / Ferrargunj will be taken to their respective homes by busses that will be organized by the Transport Department and placed under Home Quarantine for 14 days.
  4. All asymptomatic passengers who are residents of other districts/ inter-island will be allowed to proceed to their place of residence by bus/ ship/ helicopter. In case movement is not possible immediately, they will be given a choice of being placed under home quarantine with their relatives locally or paid institutional quarantine till first available transport.
  5. All symptomatic passengers will be quarantined at the designated COVID Care Centre/ institutional quarantine centres/ hospitals, as the case may be.
  6. Payment for Institutional Quarantine Centres/ COVID Care Centres (CCC) will be taken as already approved, from all the persons belonging to AAY, PHH (i.e. old BPL) and patients who were referred by the UT Administration to empaneled hospital for treatment under Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY and ANISHI (in these cases, expenditure for institutional quarantine will be borne by the Administration for patient along with one attendant). The chargeability will be Rs. 990/- (including taxes) per room per day for single occupancy and additional amount of Rs. 300/- (including taxes) will be taken in case of double occupancy (for persons including children above 5 years). These charges include meals/ tea.
  7. Residents of the Islands (with no travel history from 25th March 2020 onwards) shall be allowed to travel to other islands. They will be screened at the point of embarkation. Further, such persons will not be required to be home quarantined henceforth.
  8. All Guidelines/ directives of the Ministries of Home Affairs and the Health & Family Welfare and the SOPs issued by Govt. of India shall be strictly followed.
