Port Blair, May 29: The Secretary of the Society for Andaman & Nicobar Ecology (SANE), Mr. Samir Acharya has called upon the Chief General Manager, BSNL, A&N Islands to resign and seek another posting because of the sorry state of BSNL services under him.

In a letter to the, CGM, Mr. Murali Krishna, SANE’s Secretary, Mr. Acharya mentioned that he had come to Andamans in the year 1967 and have resided here since then. “I have never seen BSNL in such a sorry State as now. Not only the telephones and mobiles but even internet does not work”, he said.

“In a hierarchical organization, every person rises to his own level of incompetence. Since you are obviously out of your depth here, I invite you to kindly resign and seek another posting as a favour to the Islands and Islanders”.

Acharaya also pointed to the CGM that in recent past, there used to be a Chief Development Commissioner here in the 1970s to implement the colonization and rehabilitation schemes for an entirely different reason had recommended to the Govt. of India to post him elsewhere and to abolish his post.  It was in 1970 or so, he said in his letter.

“Even if it is rude, no offence is intended”, Acharya added.
