Port Blair, June 1: The State President-BJP, A & N Islands Shri. Ajoy Bairagi along with Shri. Jyotirmoy Bawali, State General Secretary, A & N Islands were on a visit to North & Middle Andaman District between 25th May 2020 to 31st May, 2020. During their visit, they met all party leaders, supporters, karyakartas as well as the people of several villages of North & Middle Andaman.

Bairagi has also met the Deputy Commissioner of North & Middle Andaman District and highlighted several grievances of people and demanded its redressal. Out of all those issues, few notable issues are indicated herein under:-

  1. In agriculture sector, there are no availability of seeds and fertilizers and the same needs to be arranged immediately. Arecanut, Coconut crop & vegetables were largely damaged. Farmers could not cultivate due to lock down and therefore each and every farmer be suitably & adequately compensated through PM-Fasal Bima Yojna.
  2. All small vendors of every sector be permitted to conduct their respective business.
  3. No service of Doordarshan News in Diglipur and Kalighat and hence the same be provided/restored forthwith.
  4. Petrol/Diesel is issued to the general public once in 7 days only and since the general public are required to cover long distance, therefore some relaxation in dates be given or they may be allowed to carry fuel in Containers/Cans.
  5. Due to non implementation of Ujjwala Scheme properly, lots of people are facing problems as supply of Kerosene is also stopped. Hence, either the Ujjwala Scheme be implemented in its true spirit and letter or the supply of Kerosene be restored for till then. Moreover, since there is scarcity of supply, one more distribution Centre should be opened.
  6. Condition of road from Aerial Bay is in a absolutely bad and people having two as well as three wheelers are unable to ply their vehicles in this region. People are forced to walk for more than 18 to 20 Kms and hence a request was made to the DC (N & M Andaman) to instruct the NH 4 Contractors and authorities to immediately carry out repair process by filling up the potholes.
  7. MNREGA work not carried out right from Baratang to Diglipur due to non-payment of pending dues to the workers. In the 20 lakh crore package, a specific enhanced stimulus was provided for MNREGA work and therefore the same may be utilized for disbursement the payment.
  8. Poor network of BSNL in Kadamtala region to be immediately attended.
