Port Blair, June 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has called upon the islanders to wake up to the reality and seriousness of the situation and take responsibility. In a message to the islanders, the Member of Parliament said, “Our Islands is passing through a tough phase due to Coronavirus outbreak – COVID-19, I sincerely appeal to all my dearest and respected Islanders to unitedly and collectively fight against the biggest global health, social and economic crisis of our lifetime which we have never imagined.

Together, we must act now to stop the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the most vulnerable persons, senior citizens and children below 10 years who are repeatedly advised to stay at home.

“I know this is our testing times in fight against the deadly disease we may have to face some difficulties, but for the greater interest of the people of these Islands, I wish, we all need to accept these situations as a challenge and with combined effort and responsibilities, we can overcome the hazard of Coronavirus in these Islands.

“We have to wake up to the reality and seriousness of the situation and take responsibility, we all need each other support and honesty; by wearing face mask, avoid going to any crowded place, we have to regularly and thoroughly clean our hands with sanitizers or washing them with soap without wasting more water. To maintain at least “do gaz ki doori (distance of 02 yards)” distance between yourself and others are the lifeline to keep us alive”.
