Port Blair, June 26: The Pradesh Congress Committee, A&N Islands led by its President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma in association with all its frontal organizations observed “Shaheedon ko Salam Divas” on 26th June, 2020 from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM at Tiranga Park to pay homage and tribute to our twenty brave martyrs of India Army who made supreme sacrifice in the Galvan Valley at Ladak on 15th June, 2020.
The party functionaries saluted the memory of Col. B. Santosh Babu and other brave soldiers of the “16 Bihar Regiment” for their supreme sacrifice and reiterates unwavering solidarity to our Armed Forces across the country. While paying homage to the Martyrdom of our brave soldiers, candles and lamps were lightened carrying along with placards saluting our Jawans. Two minutes silence and prayers was performed by the Congress Party leaders and people present in the programme in the memories of valiant martyrs by maintaining social distancing and wearing protective face masks etc.
The PCC President remembered the brave soldiers who scarified their life to protect and safeguard the interest of the nation. All the senior leaders of PCC, District Congress, City Congress, Block Congress, Youth Congress, Sevadal, Mahila Congress, NSUI, INTUC, elected representatives, party workers and leaders belonging to various other political parties such as DMK, TDP, CPM etc and general public attended the programme and paid homage and tribute to brave soldiers.
