Port Blair, Sept. 20: Indian Red Cross Society, A & N Branch conducted a COVID-19 awareness programme and distributed 350 washable cotton cloth masks to corona warriors including Anganwadi workers and helpers and ASHA workers attached to the HWCs/UHCs, COVID Care Centres and Fishermen group of Dignabad area of Port Blair through MO In-Charges of HWC-Shadhipur, HWC-Dairy Farm, HWC-Junglighat, HWC-Delanipur and HWC-Haddo.

Also 125 washable cloth masks and Mysore sandal soap distributed to the COVID Care Centre-1, ITI Boys Hostel, COVID Care Centre-II, ITI Workshop and COVID Care Centre, DBRAIT. 150 Washable Cloth masks are also distributed to Fisherman community of Dignabad area, Port Blair.

All together 625 washable cotton cloth mask and 150 mysore sandal soaps were handed over to all respective In-Charges for further distribution on 15th & 16th September 2020 by Dr. R. Thulasi Dasan, Hon. General Secretary and other supporting staff of IRCS, A&N Branch, Port Blair.

It is recommended to wash cloth masks after every use. When removing, be careful not to touch your eyes, nose and mouth. Wash hands immediately after removing the mask. In addition proper hygiene practices and physical distancing are still the best methods of keeping yourself safe.
