Process For Cashless Challans Has Been Initiated: Anchipaka

Port Blair, Sept. 20: The South Andaman District Office off late has been receiving complaints regarding TR-5 Challans being issued to the violators of the National Guidelines of COVID-19 Management in compliance with District Magistrate’s Order No. 939 Dtd. 31st Aug 2020.

The District Office in this regard has informed the general public that TR-5 being a single sheet comprises of a receipt and a counterfoil. The receipt is issued to the violator, while the counterfoil is retained for records. While issuing TR-5, no carbon copy is being used.

In a communication, the Dy. Commissioner, Shri Suneel Anchipaka has appealed the general public to ensure and verify the amount mentioned on both the sides of TR-5, before making any payment to avoid any malpractice/ confusion. The officials involved in the drive to collect fines from the violators are being directed to ensure that the phone numbers are mentioned and signature of the violators are also to be obtained on the counterfoil of TR-5, before receiving the payment.

The details will be further randomly cross verified by the District Control Room to ensure transparency in the entire process. Further, to streamline the above, the District Administration is planning to go for cashless challan system and the process for the same has already been initiated, said Anchipaka.
