Port Blair, Sept. 25: A delegation of Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ACCI) led by Shri Surendra Prahladka, President Admiral DK Joshi (Retd), Lt. Governor, A&N Islands today at Raj Niwas. The delegation appraised the LG about the various initiatives taken by ACCI in association with the Administration in arresting the pandemic Covid -19 and appreciated the entire Administration and the Chief Secretary under the able leadership and guidance of the Lt. Governor, which could bring down Covid – 19 cases close to negative in these Islands and very cautiously opening up of business and social activities to bring the islanders’ in to normal life. 

The delegation  also appraised post Covid – 19 relief packages and requested for Implementation of Citizen Charter, which the Administration has issued during December 2014; consider reduction in Tenants Registration fee, Stamp Duty & Circle rate; Allow submission of MSME Claims till 31st March, 2021; Waiver of Electricity Charges; Port dues; Property Tax;  Water Charges; Game Fishing Boat charges;  various license and renewal fee of Tourism Department for a period of one year and allow registration of commercial vehicles and allow continued operation of quarry.

The LG gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and has assured to consider them. The Lt. Governor also shared various Tourism Projects by NITI Aayog including the mega projects at Great Nicobar, Little Andaman and also advocated citizen based self-restrain adhering to all Covid protocol to arrest the spread of pandemic till vaccine is made available.
