Port Blair, Sept. 25: Responding to the grievances expressed by the various grades of Heavy Vehicle Drivers of PBMC regarding their non-regularisation of service of adhoc promotion, the Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has taken up the matter with the Secretary, Port Blair Municipal Council requesting to consider for regularization of their service from the date they given adhoc promotion during June 2013 against the existing vacant posts.

He said that during pending notification of Recruitment Rules, adhoc promotion was given to the eligible persons for the post of various grades Heavy Vehicle Drivers during June 2013 after observing required codal formalities and since then they are continuing their services on adhoc basis.  Since the Recruitment Rules for these posts have been finalized and notified by the appropriate authority during December 2019, their adhoc promotions are yet to be regularized as of now. 

The Member of Parliament requested the Secretary, PBMC to regularize their adhoc promotion in the respective Grades of Heavy Vehicle Drivers posts from the date the date of their initial adhoc promotion on priority as many of the serving Heavy Vehicle Drivers are nearing their retirement/ superannuation.
