Port Blair, Oct. 18: The State BJP Team under the leadership of Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President along with Shri. Prakash Adhikari, State Vice President, Shri. M. Vinod, State Vice President, Shri. Uday Shankar Singh, State Media Convenor and Shri. N.K Udhaya Kumar, State President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha met the Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri. G. Kishan Reddy at his home office on 16th of October 2020.

The State BJP Team discussed on various issues pertaining to the Islands with the Minister. Prominent among the issues raised were the problems being faced by the quarry operators in the Islands. A request was made to reconsider the import of quarry products in the Islands from foreign countries and elsewhere in India, in the interest of the Islanders and the quarry operators.

Further the problems being faced by the tourist boat operators were raised before the Minister, a demand to amend the present land regulation act was also raised before the Minister of State for Home Affairs. The State BJP Team also requested the Minister to look into the issue of circle rates and stamp duty charges of land in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and requested him to revise the same in the favour of the general public of the Islands.

Several other issues pertaining to the development of Andaman and Nicobar Islands were also taken up during the meeting with the Minister. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the visiting team and ensured that the issues highlighted by them will be acted upon.
