Port Blair, Oct. 18: The team of Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman & Nicobar Islands State Unit, under the leadership of Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President met Shri J.P Nadda, National President, Bhartiya Janata Party at New Delhi on 17th of October 2020.

During the meeting several issues relating to the Islands and the Islanders were discussed with the National President BJP. Some of the prominent issues discussed with J.P Nadda were, the issue of quarry operators and the problems that will be caused because of the decision of the  A&N Administration to import quarry products from foreign countries to the Islands. Further the issue of revision of the circle rates and stamp duty for land in Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the favour of the general public of the Islands was also discussed.

The team also emphasised the need for revival of tourism in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, which is the need of the hour since tourism industry is the largest employment provider in Andaman & Nicobar Islands after the Govt. It was stressed that proactive measures need to be taken for the revival of the tourism in the Islands. The need for friendly and transparent guidelines for tourism was also stressed.

The State BJP Unit also raised the issue of filling up of all the vacant posts in the A & N Administration soon, so that the thousands of unemployed youths of the Islands can get employment and the efficiency of A & N Administration increases. The demand to employ the local qualified officers in the Shipping Corporation of India was also raised.

Bairagi also invited Nadda for a visit to the islands to which he assured that all the demands of the State BJP Unit will be considered. He extended his support to the State BJP Team in all their endeavours to ease the life of the general public of the Islands.

Along with Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, Shri. Prakash Adhikari, State Vice President, Shri. M. Vinod, State Vice President,  Shri. Uday Shankar Singh, State Media Convenor and Shri. N.K Udhaya Kumar, State President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha were also present during the meeting.
