230 Families Comprising of 664 People in Two Containment Zones Screened on the First Day Itself

Port Blair, Oct. 18: In continuation to the efforts of the District Administration in its fight against the spread of COVID-19 in Diglipur, active field surveillance has been conducted in which 230 families comprising of 664 people in the two containment zones were screened on the first day itself. More than 400 medicine kits have already been distributed amongst the ILI/ SARI suspects.

The Emergency Operation Centre is intensively following up the ILI cases and regularly monitoring the health conditions of such cases. Testing has been intensified and the immediate contact of all COVID positive cases and symptomatic persons are being tested on priority.

A meeting of the market association was held under the chairmanship of AC, Diglipur and the association was informed about the present situation. They have assured their support in the fight by extending all possible help in supply of essential commodities in the containment zones.

Meeting with the various organising committee members of Durga Puja and other representatives was held and they have been informed about the gravity of the situation. They have agreed to hold the Durga Puja as per the SOPs issued by District Administration in the containment zones.
