Port Blair, Nov. 22: The Bharatiya Janata Party State Unit Team under the leadership of Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President Bharatiya Janata Party today met Dr. Sanjeev Balyan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Govt. of India at Raj Nivas Annex, Corbyn’s Cove, Port Blair.

The Minister was on a three day personal visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands along with his family. Ajoy Bairagi along with the Bharatiya Janata Party State Unit had earlier welcomed the Minister at Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair. 

Bairagi was accompanied by Shri. Aruna Giri, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Shri. M. Vinod, State Vice President, Smti. Sheela Singh, State Vice President, Shri. Ramdas, State General Secretary, Smti. Sunita Sharma, State Secretary, Smti. Phulmani, State Secretary, Shri. Uday Shankar Singh, State Media Convener and  Shri Chitranjan Chowdhary, State General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The delegation of Bharatiya Janta Party raised several issues with the Minister relating to Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

Some of the key issues raised were implementation of the Gokul Mission in Ferrargunj Panchayat under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna, which was pending with the Ministry for a long time. The Minister informed the delegation that all other formalities have been completed and the land for the project will be taken over soon and the project will start.

Other issues raised before the Minister were problems of the farmers of the Islands because of non-availability of feed for their livestock since almost the last two years, problems faced by the famers of the Island because of non-availability of Veterinary Medicines in the Islands since almost the last two years, problems of the farmers of the Islands because of non-availability of calves, chicks, goats, piglets etc. for rearing, the problems of the sea going fishers of the Islands because of non-grating of fishing licenses on time and the problem of non-availability of good quality fresh water fish seeds in the Islands.

The non-implementation of the schemes of the Central Govt. relating to Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying were also discussed with the Hon’ble Minister.

The Minister assured the BJP delegation that all the issues raised will be sorted out after he goes back to Delhi. He also assured that he will take up all the issues with the Administration immediately.

The Minister also added that he will be visiting the Islands in the next three months with some big projects in the Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Sectors. He also invited the Bharatiya Janata Party State Unit Team and Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha Team from Andaman to Delhi to discuss regarding bringing in new projects in Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Sectors for the Islands.
