Port Blair, Jan 18: On the third day of Police Raising Week, a blood donation camp was organized by A&N Police at Police Training School (PTS), Prothrapur in which around 100 police personnel and around 20 civilians voluntarily donated blood. Senior Police officers namely Sh. Shivendra Kant Tewari, IPS, SP (AP) and Dy.SP Manoj Kumar Meena, among others donated blood. The COVID-19 protocols were strictly complied with while collecting blood. The medical team from Blood Bank led by Dr. Shahina Mustaquim, Directorate of Health Service made arrangement for collection of blood donated by Police.

The PTS alongwith Police Station Aberdeen jointly conducted an awareness programme on ‘Child Safety’ at Govt. Sr. Sec. School, School Line. The main objective of the programme was to sensitise and make children aware about their personal safety and appropriate behavior. A total of 72 students attended the programme.  Inspector Rasheeda of P.S. Aberdeen, SI Abdul Manaf and SI Arthi Roy of Police Training School delivered lectures on various aspects of child safety highlighting good touch, bad touch, online cyber safety etc. Another such awareness programme at Govt. Sr. Sec. School Rangachang is planned.

N&M Andaman District organized special awareness programme for auto and jeep drivers regarding Traffic Rules at Billiground and Baratang. A visit to police station for school children was organized at PS Rangat. A weapon handling competition amongst Police staff was held at PS Diglipur. Staff of PS Kadamtala conducted awareness programme about the provisions of Protection of Aboriginal Tribe. Nicobar District organised two awareness programmes on drug abuse and traffic Rules. A rangoli programme and cleanliness drive under Swatch Bharat Abhiyan was carried out at different locations.

Tomorrow (19/01/2021), A&N Police will be organizing a Medical Camp, awareness programme on financial online fraud and cleanliness drive.
