Port Blair, Jan 24: A&N Police has been playing a key role in maintaining law & order, prevention and detection of crime including protecting our coastal areas. This year also, A&N Police celebrated “A&N Police Week-2021” from 16th January 2021 to 22nd January 2021 in all Districts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands by organizing various programmes/events to connect with various sections of society and to foster positive interface and generate goodwill between Police & Public.
During observance of police week following programmes were organized by CID unit:
Taglines on Women Safety were broadcast through local cable operators and various Social Media platforms to generate awareness in the general public.
On 16/01/21 short videos of renowned and famous personalities such as Sh. Kuldeep Rai Sharma (MP A&N Islands), Sh. Bishnu Pada Ray (Ex-MP), State President Andaman Club of Commerce appreciating and congratulating the A&N Police were circulated through various social media platforms. They lauded the efforts of police department during the COVID-19 Pandemic situation and praised the proactive efforts of Police in Women and children empowerment besides sensitizing general public about cyber crime.
On 17/01/21 a Social media awareness programme was organized through pamphlet/short videos on Women safety and a panel discussion was broadcast through All India Radio which included members of Judiciary, Social Welfare, Police & NGOs.
From 19/01/21 to 21/01/21 Pamphlets on various subjects related to police and public were distributed through Social Media. A Nukkad Natak was organized by Police Entertainment team at Marine Park, Flag Point & Cellular Jail. This event has been made available on social media for general public.
