Port Blair, Feb 14: The State President BJP, Shr. Ajoy Bairagi along with Shri. Vishal Jolly, Former State President, Shri. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President and Shri. N. K Udhaya Kumar, State President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha under the leadership of Shri. Y Satya Kumar, National Secretary and Prabhari, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met Shri. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India (Independent Charge) at New Delhi.

The visiting state delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met the Minister with grievances of the boat operators of the Islands who have been facing several hardships.

The Minister assured to take up the issues at appropriate level and provide relief to the boat operators of Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Some of the issues raised includes (1) Grievances Related to Existing Inland Vessels Complying with the Inland Vessel Rules, 2016. (2) Grievances Related to the Port Hire Charges of Inland Vessels. (3) Grievances related to registration of Inland Vessels. (4) Grievances related to payment of Passenger Service Fee. (5) Opening up of new Islands for tourists.

The visiting State Bharatiya Janata Party Delegation also submitted a written representation to the Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India and to Shri. G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India regarding the grievances of the boat operators.
