Port Blair, Feb 25: As a part of ongoing COVID-19 vaccination to Front Line Workers (FLWs) of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, vaccination session started at Dr Ambedkar Auditorium, PBMC Port Blair for the Frontline Staffs of Port Blair Municipal Council.   

           A total of 110 beneficiaries were vaccinated against the 01st Dose of COVID-19 in Dr B R Ambedkar Auditorium. Till now a total of 2380 FLW which includes Police, Prison, paramilitary Municipal Frontline staffs, Volunteers of Disaster Management and District Administration been vaccinated against the 01st dose of COVID-19 Vaccine in these islands.

Dr Avijit Roy, NO COVID19, Dr Rajiv Ghosh, Site Supervisor and Dr Rohit, SPO, UNDP conducted the session along with other Health Care Staffs. The vaccination program was supervised by Ms Anjali Sherawat, IAS, Secretary, Shri Ananadavardhan Mishra, DANIC, Joint Secretary, PBMC.

The vaccination program is conducted under the overall guidance of Dr V. Candavelou, Commissioner Cum Secretary (H) and Shri R.N Sharma, Secretary (H)/MD UTHM.

The Andaman and Nicobar Administration is committed to protect its citizens against the deadly COVID19 disease. Beneficiaries from Police, District Administration, Disaster Management, CISF, CRPF, Prison dept who are enlisted for vaccination can avail the services at Dr Ambedkar Auditorium, PBMC Port Blair between 9 AM-5 PM excluding Wednesday and Sunday till completion of the vaccines or 6th of March 2021 whichever is earlier.
