97,445 Doses of Vaccine Administered So Far

Port Blair, April 23: The vaccination sessions are continuing in more than 88 designated vaccination centres set up in different parts of the Islands towards the fight against Corona virus in A& Islands. The health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries who visit the centre on a daily basis. Today, 2885 doses of vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams, taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 97,445.

The district wise figure administering of COVISHIELD doses to the eligible beneficiaries on April 23 by the Health Department states that in South Andaman 2355 persons above 45+ were administered the vaccine, in North & Middle Andaman the figure of vaccinated persons stood at 405 and in Nicobar District 125 were vaccinated. Various constructive measures are being taken by the Administration, keeping in mind the safety of the people. With concerted efforts from all quarters coupled with the support of general public, the Islands can once again defeat the dreaded virus and emerge as Corona free Islands, a press release from DHS said.
