Port Blair, April 25: A COVID-19 prevention and vaccination drive was organised by Living On The Edge (LOTE), Hindu Seva Sangh (HSS) in association with District Administration, South Andaman and Directorate of Health and Services at Nayabasti Durga Pooja Hall, at Bambooflat village of South Andaman district today.

“There are lot of people who meet the criteria, either above the age of 60 or are at least 45 years old, but left out of the vaccination drive unintentionally”, said Mr.Abhay Kumar, President LOTE. Hence LOTE, HSS has conducted a special drive to get them vaccinated.

During the day-long event LOTE raised awareness about COVID-19 preventive measures as well as other health-related and sanitation issues like menstrual hygiene and nutrition. As many as 96 peoples got benefited from the camp, and 28 others with Comorbid condition patients were asked to attend the nearest Hospital for screening and proper check-up before administration of Covid Vaccine.

Dr. Sagar, Medical Officer,  CHC Bambooflat, Mr. Someshwer Rao,  Pradhan, Bambooflat-1, Mr. Deb Kumar Bhadra, Social worker,  Mr. Saravanan, Principal , Lakshya Public School, Bambooflat, Shri. Theerath Raj, Social Workr, and many volunteers of Hindu Seva Sangh and LOTE, who have enthusiastically participated in the vaccination camp.

The Team LOTE wholeheartedly appreciated the effort of FTTH provider of Bambooflat area Mr. Ishak, Mr. Danny for providing the uninterrupted internet connectivity and working tirelessly in the late night day before the camp. The President, LOTE also thanked Dr. Jameela Bano, CMO, CHC, Bambooflat the district administration officials who were deployed for Vaccination program and the residents of the area for participating in the drive. Refreshment were also provided to the beneficiaries.
