Port Blair, April 29: Owing to the re-scheduling of summer vacation by the Department of Education from 01st May 2021 vide its O/o No. 994 dated 28th April, 2021, the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association has requested the A & N Administration to make necessary measures for Bus services and Boat services from various stations of North & Middle Andaman, Southern Group of Islands and Hut Bay, as a special case, to ensure safe movement of teachers to Port Blair and vice versa.
The General Secretary of the Association, Shri T.S.Sreekumar in a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary had said that with the suspension of passenger convoys to North & Middle Andaman from 28th April, 2021 and restrictions for Boat services to southern group of islands, it would be difficult for the teachers and their wards to move to and from Port Blair after the announcement of summer vacation.
