Port Blair, April 28: In order to prevent the further spread of infections, the District Magistrate, South Andaman District has order closure of all religious and places of worship w.e.f. 30th April 2021.
As per the order no. 594, all religious places/ places of worship shall be closed for public worship. Further religious congregations/ gatherings are strictly prohibited. Any person/ organisation violating the above directions shall be liable to be fined to the tune of Rs. 10,000/-, which shall be payable by the Management Committee.
This order shall come into force in the South Andaman District including the active Containment Zones from 30th April 2021 and shall remain in force till further orders.
In view of the emergent circumstances, the order is being issued ex-parte and is addressed to the public in general. Any disobedience of the above order shall invite penal action u/s 188 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 and the relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 against the violators.
