On the auspicious occasion of Eid, I extend my warm greetings and well wishes to all the islanders and in particular to Muslim brothers and sisters. The festival is an occasion to reaffirm our trust in the unity of humanity, to be generous towards the disadvantaged and the needy and to follow the path of selfless sacrifice and forgiveness. We all must derive inspiration from the celebration of this day and strive to promote universal brotherhood. On the pious occasion of Eid, let us remind ourselves of the unity of mankind and resolve to strive for communal harmony and peace. “May the festival bring all the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands together in a celebration of our composite culture and spread peace and harmony and bring prosperity to all”.

I thank all my respected Islanders for boldly facing the Covid challenges and hardships the Islands have ever faced. The respect for each other’s religious values, integrity and brotherhood among our Islanders has always strengthened with every challenge faced by us.

Undoubtedly, our Islands and the entire country are going through a difficult time. The Covid situation may have forced us into social distancing but our religious values will promote spiritual and emotional togetherness.
