Port Blair, May 15: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to provide a ship to Car Nicobar to transport 341 tribal people of different villages of Car Nicobar, which includes college students, medical patients, teachers from North & Middle Andaman, South Andaman whose summer vacation started from 1st May, 2021 are now stationed at Port Blair.
They are facing acute financial problems for their prolong period of stay at Port Blair in this time of Covid and lockdown since no ship after 15th April, 2021 has sailed to Car Nicobar. The MP requested the Chief Secretary to arrange sailing for Car Nicobar so that all the tribal stranded at Port Blair may be able to reach their homes and the stranded teachers from Car Nicobar may also be able to avail the return voyage to Port Blair.
