Port Blair, July 30: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration and highlighted the issue of RO Plant of G B Pant Hospital, which, according to patients, has developed some technical issues, because of which Dialysis Patients are suffering.

In his letter, mailed to CS, he pointed out that he has received multiple complaints that because of the defects in the RO plant, in some cases, fresh RO water is used only for one and a half hour, out of three hours, required for complete dialysis process.

He added that this issue has triggered a sense of fear among the dialysis patients and their relatives.

The Member of Parliament mentioned that as life of any dialysis patient is dependent on the dialysis unit, it should be the top priority of authorities to keep all dialysis units in Andaman 100 percent functional.

He requested the Chief Secretary to intervene in this matter and issue necessary directions to repair the RO plant so that dialysis patients get sufficient RO water for dialysis.

He also requested the CS to install a new RO Plant, of higher capacity, in G B Pant Hospital by removing the existing old RO Plant, in the larger interest of people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
