Port Blair, Sept. 16: On 15th Sept. 2021 at around 1800 hrs an information was received at PS Chatham that one person was drowning near Chatham Sea Shore. Immediately PC/1306 A Abdul Sameer posted at PS Chatham,  who was on duty, jumped into the water to save the man in spite of darkness and bad weather. After some time, one un-identified fisherman also joined him and both of them after cutting the rope of a boat anchored there, rowed to the spot and rescued the person.

The rescued person was immediately shifted to G.B. Pant Hospital for treatment with the support of PCR Vehicle. The person was identified at P Chandran S/o Late Pitchai (45 years) casual Mazdoor in PBMC and a resident of Buniyadabad.

The Constable along with the fisherman (who left without intimating his details) have shown exemplary act of bravery and humanity to save the life of a human. South Andaman Police appreciates the act of both these persons.
