Port Blair, Dec. 5: The State President BJP, Shri R. Mohan has expressed that the Aadhar Cards are not being delivered to the concerned islanders by the Department of Posts.

In a letter to the Lt. Governor, the State President mentioned that Aadhar Cards are to be delivered through Post Offices on giving clear address and cell nos. at the time of photographing. But, the picture in the Port Blair and South Andaman area is not so. We come to know that bulk of Aadhar Cards have been dumped in several post offices without proper delivery. Now that the Aadhar Cards are issued in bulk to the respective Municipal Councillors for delivery, nearly 60% of the local residents have not received it so far.

Mohan thus suggested that only the cards where address is not complete should be handed over to the Councillors, while the remaining be delivered at the respective addresses .

“As per the govt. of India scheme, in order to get all subsidy and facilities the Aadhar card is a must. Without issuing card how the poor people will get the facilities?”, Mohan said.
