Port Blair, Feb.21: The Lt. Governor, Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), who was on tour to Neil and Havelock Islands on Feb.20 and 21, visited the Radha Nagar Beach at Havelock yesterday. On his way to the beach, the Lt. Governor also inspected the parking site near the Helipad.

The Lt. Governor also held a meeting with the PRI members and general public in the conference hall of Dolphin guest house this morning. The PRI members put forth various issues like widening and repair of roads between Krishna Nagar junction and Radha Nagar and also at Kalapathar, providing additional boat services to Havelock etc.

The Lt. Governor assured the gathering of looking into the genuine grievances raised by them. The possibility of deploying additional boats will be explored, he said.

The Lt. Governor also visited the PHC Havelock and inspected the facilities available for the patients. He also interacted with the in and out patients in the Hospital and inspected the food made available to them. He also assured that the construction of second phase of PHC, at an estimated cost of Rs 4.7 Cr will be taken up on priority and a lady Doctor will be posted in the PHC Havelock within a month.

The Lt. Governor also visited GSSS Havelock and interacted with the students. He also inspected the mid-day meal being provided to the children.

Later, the Lt. Governor also visited the Kala Pathar beach and took stock of the facilities available for the tourists. In the evening, the Lt. Governor returned to Port Blair.
