Port Blair, Feb 22: Indian Coast Guard Region (A&N) is conducting seminar/workshop on International Humanitarian Law by International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) from 22-24 Feb 18 at Port Blair. A team of five members of ICRC, Delhi will be conducting classes on different aspects of Humanitarian Law applicable internationally.

Today’s seminar was inaugurated and chaired by Director General Indian Coast Guard, Rajendra Singh, President Tatrakshak Medal, Tatrakshak Medal. Whilst addressing the attendees , The Flag Officer emphasised on importance of having knowledge of International Humanitarian Law, and highlighted different aspects  challenges being faced by ICG towards maintaining Law and Order at sea.

The objective of the seminar is to sensitise the young Officers and Men of ICG towards various practical applicability of Humanitarian Law whilst on patrol at sea. Valedictory ceremony will be conducted on completion of course on 24 Feb 18.
