Port Blair, May 7: The Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has suggested the Lt. Governor to set up a help desk for the islands’ students who are studying abroad.

The MP has informed the Lt. Governor that there are a number of students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands studying abroad in Russia, Nepal, Bangladesh and other countries who are stranded due to the current lockdown in the wake of COVID-19. He said that Government of India has planned for evacuation of Indian citizens stranded abroad because of the COVID-19 inducted lockdown in phased manner from 7th May 2020.

Kuldeep has therefore suggested the Lt. Governor, A&N Islands for setting up of a ‘Help Desk’ at the level of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to register the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands studying abroad so as to enable them to return back to their homes.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has expressed deepest condolence to the bereaved families of the deceased in the Vizag LG Polymers Plant gas leakage tragedy occurred on 7th May, 2020 and also prayed for speedy recovery of the peoples who have fallen ill.
