New Delhi, June 12: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is India’s premier public University in the field of national security and policing. RRU, an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, serves the academic, research and training needs of the paramilitary and police forces of the country.

Rashtriya Raksha University showcased the various initiatives, programs and activities being undertaken by them during the visit of the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India, Shri Amit Shah in Dhordo (Kutch) on November 12, 2020.

TREE Academic Model- Training, Research, Education and Extension, is deployed by the University to deliver academic excellence in the country. The extensive academic, research and training programs being undertaken by the ten schools of the University contribute towards strengthening the security and policing ecosystem of India.

On 11 November 2020, RRU Integrated Space for digital learning platform- RISE (RRU’s Integrated Space for e-Education) has been taken place. RISE shall play an instrumental role in delivering in quality academic programs through online education mode not only for the aspiring youth intending to join the Indian police and security forces but also. shall cater to our committed CAPF and police personnel serving in various parts of the country.

In order to fulfil the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, the University is imparting a platform for the entrepreneurial Yuva Shakti to undertake Made in India innovations in the field of defence and security. It comprises of initiatives such as  indigenously developed drones with wide ranging applications, digital health tools to protect the health of the nation’s citizens etc.

Through the recently promulgated Rashtriya Raksha University Act, 2020, the University was elevated to the status of an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. Its earlier avatar, Raksha Shakti University, was set up by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in the year 2009.
