Port Blair, Jan 6: Dispelling darkness, lighting pathways and nourishing the parched lives of street vendors, PMSVANidhi hailed victorious in their most distressed times. One such satisfied beneficiary, who became Atmanirbhar after availing the facility of collateral free loan under PMSVANidhi is G.Veeramal, a lady Vendor involved in the business of tea stall at Haddo, near Hindi medium school. She supports a family of 3 members with a young dependent daughter and Husband who works as a private labour.

During the COVID period, she sadly states that the family was fully dependent at the mercy of the neighbors and relatives who at times provided basic minimal food for survival; she also says that sometimes they paid money to procure ration form nearby grocery store.

She came to hear about the PMSVANidhi micro-credit facility from PBMC office and approached for assistance. After receiving the working capital loan of Rs 10000  in  her SBI account, she firstly bought stocks  for restarting her tea shop, then bought ration for her family, returned the borrowed money from friends and relatives. She is grateful to PBMC and administration for handholding her and providing much needed respite.
