Port Blair, Feb. 17: As part of the drive against sale of illegal CDs and Gambling activities, the A & N Police has solved two case of sale of porn CDs and gambling activities.

In the first case, acting on a secret information a Police team led by SHO PS Pahrgaon SI P.K. Abdul Arif SHO PS Pahargaon alongwith the staff of Anti-Burglary Squad of PS Aberdeen comprising of ASI M.

Abdul Rasheed, HC Sanjay Kujur, HC Surya Narayan, PC Ashish Mallick, PC Rakesh Toppo and PC M. Raja Rao raided a shop on 12th February at Bathubasti and seized a big haul of pornographic Compact Discs and the Computer hardware used for making copies of such CDs & Pen Drives. The person selling pornographic CDs has been identified as one Sita Ram Yadav.

Upon this, a case vide Crime No. 24/13, dated 12/02/2013, u/s 292 IPC has been registered at PS Pahargaon and the accused person (owner of the shop) Sita Ran Yadav, (26) yrs. R/o New Pahargaon has been arrested..

Continuing with its crackdown on gambling activities, Aberdeen police has arrested five persons on 14th February (Thursday) under A&N Islands Gambling Regulation, 1956. Acting on information, the Anti- Burglary squad of PS Aberdeen led by ASI M. Abdul Rasheed raided a gambling den near Cattle Pond at Anarkali in the evening and nabbed five persons, namely Mohd. Hussain (40) yrs, Mohd. Arif (36) yrs r/o Garacharma, Deepak Lall (32) yrs r/o Mohanpura, Roop Singh (43) yrs r/o Prem Nagar, M. Arul (33) r/o Wimberlygunj. 52 Nos. playing cards and Rs. 42,025/- in cash were seized from the spot.
