Port Blair, March 3: In order to celebrate International women’s day UNNATI convened a meeting of its volunteers and representatives of Self Help Groups and Joint Liability Groups on 2^nd March 2013. It was decided to celebrate a week long programme in different villages from 4^th Mar. to 10^th Mar. 2013, during which food processing training to 20 women and 3 training on tailoring and machine repairs will be started to provide training to 90 women of weaker section besides organizing credit camp for sanction of loan under Joint Liability Group for undertaking self employment.

During the women’s day celebration the Govt. of India’s new scheme “Mission Poova Shakti“ for empowering and holistic development of women gender equality and gender justice through Inter sectoral convergence of programmes impacting forgiving synergy among various stakeholders and creating an enabling environment conducive to social change will be discussed and highlighted.
