Port Blair, May 19: The residents of Austin IV and Borang had called upon the PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma during his tour to Middle and North Andaman and requested to impress on the authorities to fulfil their long pending demand for a bus stand.

Accordingly Sharma after visiting the places was shocked at the pathetic condition and agreed to take forward their demand for a bus stand. He thus wrote a letter to the Deputy Commissioner, Middle and North Andaman and explained that the villages of Austin IV and Borang which are very old encroachments and allotted lands are on ATR Road under Forest cover. To reach to Bus stand people have to cross a path covered with Jungle and after reaching to their destination, these villagers have to wait for their bus either under scorching sunlit or heavy shower. Such waiting is very much painful and agonizing to everyone especially to the elderly person, womenfolk, children and ailing persons. Sharma stating the above has requested the DC to consider construction of proper bus stoppages at Austin IV and Borang as a welfare measure.
