Port Blair, June 9: Eminent Kathak Exponent Smti. Debashree Bhattacharya is on a visit to these islands to conduct a Kathak Workshop. Smti. Debashree is a registered artist with the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Doordarshan. She has performed in various shows across the world and her heart lies in spreading the dance form to amateurs and professionals.
The Workshop is being conducted by Naach Academy of Performing Arts in association with INTACH Andaman Chapter with support from the Directorate of Art & Culture, A & N Administration. The workshop is a week long program. It would be conducted in four levels. Level one being held between the 10th 15th of June while Levels II, III, and IV would be conducted in August, October and December 2013 respectively.
