Port Blair, June 12: To encourage the spirit of adventure and watermanship amongst children, the Naval Component of Andaman & Nicobar Command organised a Summer Sailing Camp for children at the Indian Naval Watermanship Training Centre (INWTC) at Haddo from 13th May to 5th Jun 13.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 35 children of different age groups from various schools at Port Blair. Many of the children belonged to the Port Blair’s Yacht Club under the aegis of ANIIDCO.

A YAI accredited coach of the Indian Navy imparted quality training to the children on Enterprise, Laser, Optimist, Hobbie Cat and J-24 class of sailing boats in addition to Kayaking and Canoeing.

At the concluding function the Naval Component Commander, Commodore Jatinder Singh gave away certificates and prizes to the participants, which was held at the INWTC, in presence of the proud parents.

During the Closing Ceremony, water scooter & speed boat rides and telegames were also organised for the families of sailors / equivalent from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
