Port Blair, June 13: Consequent on onset of monsoon, the water level of Dhanikhari Dam has increased and the APWD has lifted the curtailment on supply of water. Normal water supply has been restored to PBMC. Water supply to the residents of the Municipal area is now being made on alternate days, said a communication from PBMC.

Port Blair Municipal Council has also expressed its gratitude to the general public of municipal area for their cooperation during the water curtailment period.

The Council has further announced that application for new tap connection which was discontinued due to curtailment of supply of water to the PBMC by APWD will now be issued. The general public can now collect application form for new water tap connection from the council with effect from 14th June, 2013 on production of required document, said the Chairman, Municipal Council today.
