Port Blair, June 21: After the news report published in Andaman Chronicle dated 14th June 2013 on a self styled dictatorship at Havelock, the illegal construction carried out by one Munjoh Resort seemed to seize.

Andaman Chronicle after speaking to the concerned Phadhan of the area and other sources had carried out the report demanding attention of the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to intervene as the concerned Revenue Officials appeared to have bend down under the irresistible offers and were in a situation of trance.

After almost a week of the report published, it was informed that the Munjoh Resort has begun with its illegal construction. Speaking to Chronicle, the Pradhan of Havelock No. 3, Shri Sanjay Samadar today said, “The construction is on in full swing at the resort. We have objected to the illegal construction but since there is no action taken by the Revenue Department, the Panchayat is helpless”.

It can be hoped that the Hon’ble Lt. Governor would intervene in the matter again and issue strict instructions to the concerned department to stop such illegal activities going on under the nose of the Administrator. Such incidences not only bring bad name to the islands but also speak about the functioning of the esteemed Administration.
