Port Blair, June 24: Following the news report published in Andaman Chronicle dated 14th & 22nd June 2013, regarding violations being committed by one Manjoh Resort at Havelock the Deputy Commissioner South Andaman paid a visit to Havelock on 22nd June. During the inspection, it was observed that one resort by the name of Munjoh at Vijay Nagar has been illegally using agricultural land for commercial/resort purposes by making concrete structures without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority. SDM (SA) along with other Revenue staff & Police were directed to take immediate and strict action against the said resort owner. Directions were also issued to Dy. Tehsildar Port Blair & area Patwari to demarcate the subject land and furnish a detailed report in the matter.
