Port Blair, June 27: Shri PB Murugan, Chairman, PBMC who is also a member of A&N State Planning Board had attended the 4th Committee meeting held on 26th June 2013 at Raj Niwas. Murugan during the meeting appreciated the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, the Chief Engineer APWD and the Administration for completion of the mega project of increasing the height of Dhanikhari Dam in a time bound manner.

While discussing the Annual Plan 2013-14 for the Port Blair Municipal Council, Murugan sought adequate fund/ grant –in-aid to the Council for new projects like Development of Gandhi Park as One-day destination with Lazer and entertainment shows, Multi storied modern shopping complex at Rathnam Market, Free Multipurpose Gyms in all Municipal Wards, Modern Pay & Use Toilets in all wards, extension of Gandhi Market, E-Governance which are in various stages of execution.

The Chairperson PBMC also deliberated that the efforts taken by the Council to keep the city near and clean by introducing door to door collection of garbage and demanded fund to meet the expenditure on regularization of DRMs who have been working for the past several years under the Council.
