Port Blair, June 27: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, PCC President has requested the Lt Governor for considering the applications for the post of Lower Grade Clerk from those candidates also who have provisional pass certificates and mark sheets of Sr. Secondary examination.

In his letter Sharma wrote that through media and personal interactions it has come to his knowledge that A&N Administration with the assistance of Staff selection Commission, New Delhi will be holding a open competitive examination to fill up the posts of LGC for which the minimum qualification has been fixed as Class XIIth passed from any recognized Board/University. He further stated that there are many eligible candidates who have passed this examination through Open School/ NIOS and are waiting for their original pass certificates but their applications are being rejected due to non submission of copies of such original certificate, though they are possessing provisional certificates  and mark sheets.

Quoting the waiting 42,000 numbers unemployed youths, Sharma explained that numbers of such unemployed youths are increasing year after year as the availability of job under Government sector is very less. But when such rare opportunity comes the Open School/ NIOS candidates may not be overlooked. The PCC President has also requested to consider extension of the date of submission of applications to incorporate such students.
