Port Blair, July 3: The members of Auto Drivers Union, Bhatu Basti today approached Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma at Gandhi Bhavan and narrated about the parking problems of their autos. They stated that Bhatu Basti being a thickly populated area, they find it difficult to halt for passengers due to want of a specified Auto stand. This non availability of a auto stand not only affects their earnings but also irritate the general public when they are compelled to halt on a call of the passengers.

As per the request of the auto drivers, the PCC President along with a delegation of Auto Driver Union, Bhatu Basti met the Dy. Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Shri Naushad today and briefed him of the parking problems being faced.

In absence of parking facility the drivers have to park their autos here and there, which irks the general public as well as disturbs the flow of traffic, explained Kuldeep. Accordingly he has requested the Dy. SP to earmark some parking places for the drivers of Bhatu Basti and also other such places of heavy traffic.

The Dy. SP Traffic has given a patient hearing and assured to look into the matter at the earliest.
