Port Blair, July 8: The State Bank of India, Port Blair today donated essential equipments with a total cost of Rs. 9.11 Lakhs to Govt. Boys Sr. Sec. School, Port Blair to equip the students with modern essential equipments for their better education. A small function was organised at TGCE Auditorium wherein the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration Shri Anand Prakash as the chief guest handed over the equipments to the Principal Shri Mathew Thomas in the presence of Shri DN Singh, Director cum Secretary, Education, Shri Ravindra Kumar Trivedi, Assistant General Manager, SBI and Shri Jagdish Kishen, General Secretary of the Alumni Association of Govt. Boys School .

This is a small effort from SBI towards nation building, said the Assistant General Manager, SBI. The SBI being Banker to every Indian is always active in feeling their presence in the society. Since its conception, it has understood the importance of education and has always associated with schools in various ways. If India wants to see itself among the developed nations then we cannot ignore the importance of education, he said.
