Port Blair, July 11: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Bishnu Pada Ray today laid the foundation stones for two new public utility works in Port Blair apart from inaugurating two recently completed works. Ray was accompanied by Smti Rupa Ray, Smti Sheela Singh, Coucillor Ward no 15 and Shri Aziz ur Rehman, Ward no 6,  among others.

The completed works include: High drain to check flow to the shop & house owners from Minnie Bay Junction to Kripanand colony at ward No-10 under Municipal Council with total sanctioned amount of Rs 18,06,233.00 under MPLAD fund. Retaining Wall at Shadipur Ward No-15  (near Murugan Temple) under Municipal council with total sanctioned amount of Rs 21,86,430.00 under MPLAD fund.

The works for which foundation stones were laid are: Construction of R.C.C Retaining Wall at Haddo Ward No-1 (near Kalimatha Temple) under Municipal area in Port Blair with total sanctioned amount of Rs 8,17,863.00 under MPLAD fund. Extension of Coolie labour shed (Mazdoor vishram Stal)  at Shivaram Complex at Port Blair with a total sanctioned amount of Rs 9,92,000.00 under MPLAD fund.
