Port Blair, July 16: The Directorate of Health Services in association with ‘Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM)’ had organized a training programme in ‘Critical Care’ for Nurses and Doctors on 13th and 14th July, 2013 in the auditorium of G B Pant Hospital, Port Blair. Altogether 82 Staff Nurses and 63 Doctors from G B Pant Hospital, Port Blair, Dr. R P Hospital, Mayabunder, B J R Hospital, Car Nicobar, other PHCs / CHCs INHS Dhanvantari and from private practice were trained in Management of Critically ill patients.

The training was imparted by experts in the field of Critical Care from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, Fortis Hospital, New Delhi and Medical Super Specialty Hospital, Kolkata. The training is expected to to improve the skills of the Nurses and Doctors involved in the Management of Critically ill patients of these Islands.

Dr. P S Shastri, Sr. Consultant and Vice Chairman, Critical Care & Emergency Medicine, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi expressed their willingness to organized similar training for the doctors and staffs of these islands in future too.
