Port Blair, July 17: On 16th July 2013 a delegation of the State DMK led by Shri. A.R. Marudhavaanan met the Chief Secretary, Shri. Anand Prakash and Smti. Rina Ray, Principal Secretary and apprised them about the issue of Non finalization of BPL List and free books to students from class 1Xth to X11th.
The CS and the Principal Secretary gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that the administration would do all possible help to the concerned students. They further stressed that the financial allocations and availability of books were being looked into and assured that by the next academic year the administration would be in a position to give free books to all students from class 1X to class X11.
The DMK party has thanked the A&N Administration for the assurances and hoped that the issues raised would be settled by the next academic session.
