Port Blair, July 19: The PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor to consider a branch of Jawahar Naodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) at Hutbay, Little Andaman.

In his letter he has stated that the branches of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Panchawati and Nicobar have proved to be very worthy for the students of these islands and these branches have shown excellent results in the examinations of CBSE. More over the people of all over these islands wish to get their wards admitted the the said schools, which also boarding facilities.

Praising the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sharma has written that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya are schools for talented children and form a part of the system of gifted education. Its significance lies in the selection of talented rural children as the target group and the attempt to provide them with quality education without regard to their family's socio-economic condition.

Sharma stated that while he was on tour to Hutbay, Little Andaman, many parents approached him to place their demand before the Lt. Governor to consider a branch of the school at Hutbay.  The PCC President has therefore requested the Administrator to consider their genuine demand and allow a branch of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Hutbay as a welfare measure.
