Supplier to be registered under the Food Safety and Standard Act 

Port Blair, July 22: Under the supplementary nutrition programme of ICDS, supplementary nutrition is being provided to the eligible beneficiaries in the anganwadi centres. As per the revised guidelines issued by the A&N Administration for purchase of items on the price fixed by the price fixation committee constituted, has to be made from any self help group (SHGs)/ village community (VCs)/mahila mandals (MMs)/Panchayat Raj Institution (PRIs) as per the interim order of the Supreme Court and the direction issued by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, GoI. Willing supplier of supplementary nutrition should be registered under the Food Safety and Standard Act.

In view of this, all existing SHGs/MMs/VCs and PRIs in the jurisdiction of ICDS Urban Project have been requested to submit their consent in writing for supply of SNP items on the prices fixed by the price fixation committee to the anganwadi centres during the current year (2013-14) by August 20, 2013 to the Child Dev. Project Officer (UP), Directorate of Social Welfare.
