Port Blair, July 28: A solo exhibition of water colour paintings was inaugurated by Dr Sashi Kumar, IFS, PCCF-cum-Principal Secretary (Science and Technology) on Friday 26th July, 2013 at Maharashtra Mandal, Port Blair. The exhibition features 38 solo water colour paintings by P Senthil Kumar depicting various facets of islands landscape, waterscape, and other aspects of island life.

P Senthil Kumar, known as Senoviya in the artists circle was born and brought up in these islands. He is working as an Artist in the Department of Science & Technology and currently pursuing Masters Degree in Fine Arts at Govt College of Fine Arts, Chennai. Incidentally this is the second time the artist is exhibiting his paintings in these islands. He also participated in a group painting exhibition at Arts Houze, Alwarpet Chennai during Jan 2013, where his painting on island life received rave reviews.

The exhibition before it closed at 8pm on 27th July, 2013 was visited by a good number of art enthusiasts specially students who evinced keenness to learn arts. Incidentally during schooling at GSSS Mohanpura, Senthil Kumar created a record for painting 50 hrs nonstop. This personal feat eventually drew him into the field, therefore wishes to train a group of children and help them profess painting which according to him is the most intense form of individualism.
