Car Nicobar, July 30: The School Management Committee of the Senior Secondary School Lapathy for the Session 2013-14 was constituted today. The First Headman of the Lapathy village Shri Manuah Thomas was elected the Chairman of the committee.

A large gathering of the parents and guardians of the students elected two members from each village in the committee, in the meeting held at the village community hall. To monitor the other aspects of the School Education, additional sub committees were also formed. Smti Daisy was chosen the Secretary of the Mother’s Committee, whereas Shri Manuah was given the responsibility of the Secretary of the School Building Maintenance Committee.

Addressing the Parents the Vice Principal of the School Shri P. Abdul Rehman said that the results of the class XII in the last session was better than the previous years. Talking about the other issues he said that the absenteeism is a big problem. He requested the parents to cooperate the School management in tackling this issue. He said that Extra coaching classes are being conducted after the school hours and the parents should encourage their children to attend it. Shri Rehman informed that the Mid Meal scheme has been implemented effectively and strict monitoring is being done to check the quality of the food.

The Secretary of the Tribal Council, Shri Martin Luther informed that the Special Coaching facilities for IAS is being started at Port Blair for the Tribal students and the students should avail this opportunity. He asked the students to be disciplined and focused to their studies.

The Local Senior Doctor Shri Anwar Moosa called upon the parents to encourage their children to work hard in the studies. He said that the Education is the tool which will take them to success. Appreciating the achievements of the students in the field of Sports Dr. Anwar said that they can get success in Studies too, if they are determined.
